The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens December 13, 2013 directed by Peter Jackson starring Ian McKellan, Martin Freeman, Elijah Wood, Richard Armitage, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Luke Evans, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom and Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Smaug as well as the Necromancer.Â
