Fire Marvel’s Kevin Feige? Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Thinks So

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld takes to social media to again blast Kevin Feige offering that the head of Marvel should be fired.

Some context: Liefeld is butting heads with Marvel over their alleged treatment of him regarding getting a credit on the Deadpool & Wolverine movie and at the premiere. Long story short is that Liefeld wanted to be credited at the start of Deadpool & Wolverine, but Marvel said no. Liefeld claims Feige gave him the cold shoulder at the premiere and didn’t invite him to the after-party.

Fire Kevin Feige?

Now following it learned that Captain America: Brave New World is looking like it will be another MCU bomb, Liefeld takes to X multiple times where he thinks Feige should be fired based on the poor performance of the MCU since Avengers: Endgame.

Get Feige off the mound. He’s spent,” tweeted Liefeld to the news that Captain America: Brave New World saw an 82.4% drop from the film’s domestic opening day.

In another tweet, Liefeld, who is a big Lakers and sports fan, compared Feige fumbling the MCU to iconic sports franchises.

MCU is on an extended downside. This is beyond a trend, it’s become the norm,” tweeted Liefeld. “If this was sports, Feige would be removed. Marvel brand is like Dodgers, Lakers, Yankees, Celtics, coaches that win championships are removed a year later when the results are disappointing.”

Liefeld said in another tweet, “It’s not a secret and it’s beyond a trend. It’s the norm now. 8 movies crash over the last 3 years. Don’t we want better movies? You get the curiosity crowd then plunge.

Rob Liefeld also confirmed what I first said in that Feige’s original plan for Daredevil: Born Again was to make it a comedy like She-Hulk.

Who to credit for the success of the MCU?

Worth a mention as I have pointed out many times, the start of the MCU was successful because of guys like Favreau, Whedon, the Russos, and James Gunn — all of whom are comic book fans. Deadpool movies are successful because of Ryan Reynolds.

For whatever reason, following Endgame, Feige hired creators and producers who didn’t like or read comics. A producer at Marvel actually went so far to admit he wouldn’t hire writers who read comics. An MCU Disney+ director was also told not to read the comics. That producer was behind Eternals and Captain America: Brave New World and is exiting Marvel.

Back to Feige, he’s the boss in charge, so he made all the decisions. It’s thought the DEI garbage had a lot to do with Feige’s decisions, but when it comes down to it, it’s Feige’s decisions, and he let it all happen. #RIPMCU.
