A big rumor hits the net that offers Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are going through emergency reshoots on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is happening only two months away from the filmâs release.
The reshoots follow Feigeâs failed rebranding of Thunderbolts to New Avengers teasing the Fantastic Four in the post-credit scene. Thunderbolts is currently bombing at the box office, much like what happened with Captain America: Brave New World, which ties into the FF reshoots rumors below, as well.
The reshoots also follow the less-than-well-received Fantastic Four trailer, revealing the first look at Julia Garner as Silver Surfer. All of this is supposed to lead into Avengers: Doomsday, so Marvel needs a hit with FF this summer.
Note: We are going to be heading into big-time spoiler territory with what follows about The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

FF reshoots: More Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal
A couple of weeks ago saw it confirmed that Marvel is reshooting Fantastic Four.
Set pics leaked online featuring Julia Garner in her humanoid form as Shalla-Bal (sheâs an alien from the planet Zenn-La, at least in the comics). Â
I actually theorized the reshoots involved showing Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal getting transformed into the Silver Surfer by Galactus.

FF test screening reactions changing things
However, according to YouTuber Doomcockâs sources, the reshoots involve flashback scenes of Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal before getting transformed by Galactus in a way to humanize her so the audience becomes sympathetic to her character and storyline in the film.
The rumor claims that Marvel is trying to make the female Silver Surfer look more like a hero, as, reportedly, according to the YouTuber, test screening reactions have fans viewing her more as a villain, which Marvel doesnât want, especially with her being a female character.
Update: Numerous reports are coming in that a recent test screening did indeed happen.
From what Garner has originally said, it seemed as if she wasnât even going to be shown as Shalla-Bal in the movie. Well, apparently, Marvel seems to think showing her as a âhumanâ will make fans like her (it didnât work out for The Marvels).
Note: Even bigger possible spoilers follow.

Fantastic Four reshooting the complete ending
According to Doomcock, Marvel is reshooting the complete ending of Fantastic Four, making up the final 20 minutes of the movie, which looks to involve Julia Garner as the female Silver Surfer destroying Galactus. Itâs said to be such an emergency, that Feige is bringing on crew members from Avengers: Doomsday, which is now filming.
Apparently, the female Silver Surfer is given a doomsday device (without her knowledge?), which she then gives to Galactus, causing it to destroy him. So that makes it look as if her Silver Surfer isnât a part of destroying Galactus and completely clears her of any wrongdoing.
In the comics, Reed Richards threatens to use the Ultimate Nullifier on Galactus (who wants to bet in the movie that itâs Sue who gives the doomsday device to the Surfer???).
Update #2: Grace Randolph says the end of the movie involves women saving the day.
Note: Bigger spoilers follow

Female Silver Surfer gets killed off
If you have been reading my articles, I have been told the female Silver Surfer played by Julia Garner doesnât make it out of The Fantastic Four: First Steps alive. Iâve been dropping and hinting at this for the past year. Thatâs why I just said if the rumor that the Silver Surfer is going to be featured in more MCU projects is true, it will be Norrin Radd.
My Comic-Con insiders told me the female Silver Surfer gets killed off in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Well, wouldnât you know, Feige just killed off Taskmaster in Thunderbolts.
I was also told Galactus destroys the FFâs Earth, and then the FF escapes into the Multiverse. Well, as shown in the Thunderbolts post-credit scene, apparently, the FF make their way to our Earth, which is their multiverse.
The original plan? I was told originally that they were going to have the FF as being from our universe, that they were friends with Hank Pym and Janet. It was set in the 60s, and the FF step into the Quantum Realm only to escape years later in the present day. That, too, might have been scrapped just like Kang and instead they came up with this Multiverse storyline.

Making the female Silver Surfer more of a hero
Back to Doomcockâs info, his sources are unclear if the reshoots involve test screening reactions to the scene involving what specifically happens with the female Silver Surfer, the doomsday device, and Galactus.
But the YouTuberâs sources are clear that âthe gist of the re-shoots are that theyâre trying to make the female Silver Surfer more audience-friendly and âweâre basically turning her into a hero as opposed to a villain.ââÂ

Adding more Galactus
Doomcock also says the reshoots involve adding in more Galactus, as his insiders claim Galactus was originally going to have around as much screentime as Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, which fans also werenât happy with.
So Marvel might have actually learned something from Cap 4, and is adding in more Galactus scenes in FF.

What if?
If Doomcockâs info is legit, I actually have to wonder if they are reshooting Fantastic Four to not kill off the female Silver Surfer. Or did the test screenings reveal that fans didnât like the ending of the FFâs near-perfect world getting destroyed?
