Prior to Marvel’s Black Panther, the #1 movie of the year has been Jumanji (not Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
Jumanji is actually now over $900 million at the box office as it sits at a whopping near-$921 million worldwide ($387 million in the U.S.), which nobody ever expected to happen (a sequel is on the way, too).
Black Panther currently has a near-$709 million gross worldwide, with over $403 million in the U.S. after being open for only 12 days, which shatters Jumanji!
Now Black Adam himself, Dwayne Johnson, has taken to Instagram to offer up that Black Panther‘s dominance motivates him to do better, and The Rock also offers a congratulations.
Dwayne Johnson will be able to get revenge on Black Panther in the upcoming DC Shazam! movie as Johnson is on board as a producer (and possibly may appear) and Johnson is set to star in a DC Black Adam movie as well.
