Deadpool & Wolverine has dominated the box office, as the flick has brought in over a billion dollars and is now the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
To celebrate this monumental achievement, Marvel Studios released a heartfelt “Thank You” video dedicated to the fans who made it all possible.
Watch below.
The Movie Marvel Fans Have Been Waiting For
The video opens with a simple but powerful statement: “It’s the movie that Marvel fans have been waiting for.”
The film combines Deadpool’s trademark humor and Wolverine’s iconic grit along with cameos from previous Fox Marvel movies.
Hugh Jackman expresses gratitude
As the video continues, we see scenes of the film’s record-breaking box office performance. Fans chant “Deadpool! Wolverine!”
Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine, expresses his gratitude, saying, “To finally bring the movie to the screen is just a dream.”
Unforgettable Experiences
Ryan Reynolds, who has long been the driving force behind Deadpool’s success, shares his personal connection to the film.
“This was the most memorable experience of my entire life. It’s something that I feel like I’ve waited my whole life for.”
This sentiment is echoed by Jackman, who exclaims, “Let’s f***ing go!”
A Dream Project
Hugh Jackman declares, “Never been prouder. This is a dream project,” while director Shawn Levy emphasizes the collaborative spirit behind the film: “All of us together in a story that has action, humor, and heart. That’s a privilege for any director.”
A Thank You to the Fans
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige even chimes in with a mysterious note released yesterday.
“Thanks for making Marvel Studios’ first R-rated movie the biggest of all time. It’s fantastic to see that audiences are loving this movie as much as we all loved making it. All those conversations were worth it!” said Feige.
“When you go outside, look in the sky,” Feige tells the fans in the video which showcases drones at Comic-Con.
Lightning in a Bottle
As the video nears its end, Reynolds reflects on the uniqueness of the film.
“We recognize this is lightning in a bottle. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he says.
Reynolds jokes about making a “Wolverine bucket” and teases Jackman, asking, “What’s it like trying to look like an even younger Tom Holland?”
A Legacy Cemented
In the final moments, Deadpool’s voice cuts through with his signature wit: “Bah, you think I could be bought? You son of a—Hello.”
The video concludes with both Reynolds and Jackman expressing their gratitude to the fans: “So happy, we’ve had the time of our lives,” says Reynolds. Jackman adds, “Thank you for giving me a reason to come back.”
The current Deadpool & Wolverine box office is at $1.093 billion.
