Marvel has delayed Daredevil #1 by one week, pushing the launch to April 1.
Series writer Stephanie Phillips explained on TikTok that the short delay is due to finalizing the True Believer Blind Bags, ensuring the exclusive variants are handled properly.
While the shift may be minor, it gives fans extra time to place preorders ahead of release.
@snapcracklesteph Honestly, is it really bad news if there’s also so much good news? I’m definitely disappointed you have to wait a week more to read the new Daredevil series, but it will mean beautiful blind bag art is protected better and lots of other cool things coming. #daredevil #comiccon #marvel #booktok #author ♬ original sound – Stephanie Phillips
Marvel Previews Omen, a New Threat for Matt Murdock
Alongside the date change, Marvel.com has released a new preview and interview with Phillips, spotlighting the mysterious new villain known as Omen.
According to Phillips, Omen brings a blend of noir and horror to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen—targeting Matt Murdock directly, not just his vigilante identity.
While Daredevil fights back in costume, Phillips teases that the real mystery is how deeply Matt’s personal past is entwined with Omen’s arrival.
She cited Gothic literature and Greek tragedy as key inspirations for the character, describing Omen as both “monstrous and tragic.”

Matt Murdock’s New Status Quo
The relaunch also introduces a major shift in Matt’s daily life, he’s now a law professor.
Phillips explained that the classroom setting creates unexpected tension, with younger students challenging Matt’s traditional views on the law.
Balancing his new teaching role with Daredevil’s nightly patrols won’t come easy, and it’s clear Matt is already struggling to juggle the two sides of his identity.

Phillips and Garbett Build Their Vision Together
The new series marks a passion project for both Phillips and artist Lee Garbett, who had wanted to work together on Daredevil long before landing the job.
Phillips said their creative process is deeply collaborative, constantly trading ideas and visuals to shape the tone and intensity of the new run.
Garbett’s art, paired with Frank Martin’s coloring, is said to elevate the noir aesthetic while maintaining the emotional weight the character is known for.
