I’m proud to announce the launch of my new fan review site. It’s called Stinky Garbage — where your reviews and ratings count!
The idea for Stinky Garbage came about as a response to a certain corporate-owned, shill-controlled review aggregate site that recently ditched its audience score. Now, you have to be “verified” by purchasing tickets through their app, which they own. It’s the only way your review will count in their ratings system.
That means if you buy tickets for your friends, family, or anyone else — their reviews won’t count. Likewise, if someone buys you a ticket, your review won’t count! And if you purchase tickets through a competitor’s app or even at your local movie theater? You guessed it — your review won’t count either!
Well, that changes with Stinky Garbage.
You can post your reviews and ratings.
I’ve implemented a five-star rating system where you must also leave a review. Here’s how it works: If the reviews lean more toward the negative side, it’s considered Garbage! If they’re more positive, it’s Gold! And if a movie stays gold for a while and remains above a certain threshold, it earns the prestigious “Stinky Garbage G-status!” Full details are available in the About section (subject to change).
The same corporate-owned, shill-controlled review aggregate site also scrapped the fan ‘want to see’ feature years ago, likely at the request of the studios (looking at you, Captain Marvel!). Well, I’m happy to announce — it’s back!!! Fans can now give a thumbs up or thumbs down on any movie or TV show they want to see (or don’t want to see), and a percentage will be displayed!
We currently have hundreds of movies and TV shows available to rate. We’ll be adding more in the future.
But we need your help! Sign up for an account and start rating and reviewing the things you’ve watched. Also, please share on social media. We’re not backed by big, multi-billion-dollar corporations. We just love the content and want to keep it true to the fans!
