Following the first look details and images, Warner Bros. just dropped the trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites in what’s being called Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren’s (Vera Farminga) last case, and it sets the tone for another intense and eerie investigation.
The Conjuring: Last Rites gets released September 5, marking the final chapter in the long-running horror franchise. The first poster has also been released. Watch the trailer below.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson Return
In The Conjuring: Last Rites, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. This ninth entry in the $2 billion franchise introduces their daughter Judy (played by Mia Tomlinson) and her boyfriend Tony Spera (Ben Hardy) into the story. Returning cast member Steve Coulter appears again as Father Gordon.
The supporting cast includes Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton, and Shannon Kook.

Franchise regular Michael Chaves directs The Conjuring: Last Rites from a script written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The story is based on characters created by Chad and Carey Hayes, with James Wan and Peter Safran producing.
Behind the scenes, the production team includes cinematographer Eli Born, editors Elliot Greenberg and Gregory Plotkin, and composer Benjamin Wallfisch returning for the score. Visual effects are supervised by Scott Edelstein, with production design by John Frankish and costumes by Graham Churchyard.
Trailer Breakdown
The trailer opens with a warning: “Don’t touch anything,” as haunted and cursed objects line the Warrens’ infamous artifact room. It teases jump scares, demonic voices, and intense exorcism scenes.
Ed and Lorraine narrate parts of the trailer, reflecting on their many cases: “Maybe a thousand,” Ed says. The tone shifts darker as Lorraine warns, “Something’s changed. Something’s different.”
The final act of the trailer shows the Warrens confronting a powerful demonic force, with Ed performing a dramatic exorcism. A sinister voice taunts, “We’ve been waiting so patiently for you.”
Release Date
The Conjuring: Last Rites opens in North American theaters and IMAX on September 5, 2025. International markets will see the release starting September 3.
