Chris Evans Responds To Marvel Rumors

Chris Evans responds to the Marvel rumors he will be back as Captain America.

It’s been claimed Marvel Studios is considering re-assembling The Avengers. Another rumor offers Evans will be back as Cap in a Nomad series with Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr.

Rumors also offer Chris Evans could return in the big Avengers: Secret Wars movie as an entirely new character part of the Multiverse.

Never say never

While appearing on The View on Monday, Evans addressed the rumors.

“You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me,” Evans said. “I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and Hemsworth, and Scarlet [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back!
[But] no one’s spoken to me about it. And look, I would never say never, but I really — I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”

More Steve Rogers stories to tell

Chris Evans also addressed rumors back in April.

“It’s tough, because look, I love that role deeply,” Evans told Variety when asked about returning as Captain America. “He means so much to me, and I really do. I think there’s more Steve Rogers stories tell, sure. But at the same time, I’m very, very precious with it
it’s like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way, it really landed so well.

Evans added, “As much as I’m connected to that role and love telling those stories and working with those people, it doesn’t quite feel right right now.”

What is also interesting is that Kevin Feige has confirmed they are working on a project with Scarlett Johansson, who also recently addressed Marvel rumors.
