It’s claimed Brie Larson wasn’t happy playing Captain Marvel and being a part of the MCU, which suggests rumors have been true in regards to her possible departure.
The new MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios unauthorized tell-all includes mention that a new MCU Trinity nearly formed which Brie Larson was going to be a part of, but it didn’t happen and says Brie Larson was “disillusioned” about working with Marvel (via Reddit):
The book is short on details, but by 2022 Brie was pretty disillusioned about working with Marvel, likely due to years of Internet harassment campaigns.
What do the Brie Larson rumors say?
Rumors have offered that Brie Larson could be done with playing Captain Marvel, with some rumors even going so far as to offer she will be replaced by Rogue who in the comics steals the powers of Carol Danvers and is claimed to be a favorite of Kevin Feige.
Additional rumors have said that Disney lost confidence in Brie Larson, which actually makes sense as the sequel is not titled “Captain Marvel” like how the other MCU films feature their respective character names, but “The Marvels.”
Two additional actors and characters were also brought in The Marvels to star alongside Brie Larson, with Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel from the least-watched Ms. Marvel MCU series on Disney+, and Teyonah Parris plays Monica Rambeau, where in the movie she is called “Captain Rambeau.”
It has also been claimed that Brie Larson didn’t like and get along with her Avengers cast, and rumors have offered that Captain Marvel could get killed off or even recast.
Brie Larson done with Captain Marvel?
Scooper Daniel RPK also said a while back that Brie Larson was done with Captain Marvel and the MCU, with another rumor adding she has been looking for a new superhero role.
While there have been tons of rumors, Brie Larson actually doubted her Marvel future last year, so there just might be something to them.
Variety questioned Brie Larson at the time, “How long will you play Captain Marvel for?”
Larson replied as she looked away, “I don’t know.”
Then she oddly added and shrugged her shoulders, “Does anyone want me to do it again?”
The interviewer for Variety remarked, “Don’t be so modest.”
Brie Larson again shrugged her shoulders as she replied, “I don’t know. I really don’t know. I don’t know have the answer to that.”

Is The Marvels in big trouble?
The Marvels gets released on Nov. 10 directed by Nia DaCosta who recently participated in a bizarre interview where she threw Kevin Feige under the bus and didn’t say anything good about the movie or the cast. She also basically said she is done with Marvel.
Presales are also in the gutter as it has been reported tickets sales are only one-third of the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 tickets, and it is also said ticket sales are lower than DC’s The Flash which mega-bombed, and that Marvel is freaking out about it.
The first Captain Marvel opened to over $153 million and brought in over $1.1 billion at the box office.
