Bill Paxton passed away at the age of 61.
Paxton, known for a plethora of movies and TV series including Aliens, Titanic, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, The Terminator, and Weird Science, died from complications during heart surgery.
Bill Paxton’s publicist released the following statement to USA Today:
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”
The Texas native was most recently featured in CBS’ Training Day TV series.
Bill Paxton’s fellow co-stars took to social media to express their thoughts and feelings, including Helen Hunt who worked with Paxton in 1996’s Twister, Edge of Tomorrow‘s Doug Liman, Training Day‘s Katrina Law, Training Day‘s Justin Cormwell, Texas Rising‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Agents of SHIELD‘s Clark Gregg and Brett Dalton, Tom Hanks and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
