Ben Affleck Signs On For New Netflix Movie

Ben Affleck Signs On For New Netflix Movie

Don’t expect The Batman to start filming any time soon, at least starring Ben Affleck.

THR reports that Ben Affleck has signed on to star along with Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac for the Netflix movie formerly known as Triple Frontier, a crime drama that is now in pre-production.

Triple Frontier centers on five friends whose loyalties are tested when they reunite to take down a South American drug lord, unleashing a chain of unintended consequences.

Regarding The Batman, it wasn’t expected to start filming anyway – with it rumored to start some time next year – so Ben Affleck will have more than enough time for his Netflix gig, which actually starts filming March 26.

The latest regarding The Batman is that Matt Reeves is working on the script.

It’s still not known if Ben Affleck will be returning to the Batman role as he most recently stated he will be back only if it’s good. Reportedly, the reason he bailed on directing The Batman was regarding not being happy with the script.

“I want to direct a Batman movie, and I never got a script that I was happy with, so they are starting over and writing another script. And right now, I think a lot of different possibilities I think for the way the DC Universe could go, and I will just follow my interests in pursing that,” Ben Affleck said in December when Justice League was released.
