A new batch of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice posters has surfaced online, revealing what appear to be unused promotional images from the 2016 DC film.
The posters spotlight Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and additional character-focused designs that fans haven’t seen before.

The images surfaced on the website of Joshua Ecton, a Creative Director / ACD / Senior Art Director, and appear to be abandoned or alternate marketing materials created during the film’s original promotional run.

Unused Batman v Superman Posters Appear Online
The newly surfaced artwork includes Ben Affleck’s Batman in multiple armored and rain-soaked poses, Henry Cavill’s Superman with the red “S” shield dominating the frame, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman featured in solo and battle-ready imagery, stylized Batman v Superman logo compositions, with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, and more.
Each poster carries the original March 25, 2016 release date and the #BatmanvSuperman hashtag, suggesting they were designed for official studio use before being shelved.
The film grossed over $875 million at the time, which in today’s dollars is nearly $1.2 billion.

Found on Joshua Ecton’s Website
The posters were discovered on Joshua Ecton’s personal site, where his professional portfolio includes work as a senior art director and creative lead.
There’s no indication the images were recently created, pointing instead to unused studio assets from Warner Bros.’ original marketing push.
Because of their polish and consistency with the film’s branding, fans believe these were legitimate studio designs that never made it into theaters, billboards, or digital campaigns.

Timing Cоincides With Zack Snyder DCEU Posts
The appearance of the posters comes as Zack Snyder has recently been sharing new images from his DC films, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League.
Those posts have reignited conversation around the DCEU and Snyder’s unfinished plans.
With Snyder actively revisiting his DC era, fans see the sudden release of unused promotional art as more than coincidence.

SnyderVerse Restoration Talk Heats Up
The posters are also surfacing amid renewed speculation that the SnyderVerse could be restored, especially with ongoing talk of Warner Bros. Discovery potentially being sold.
We’ve been told a sale could open the door to revisiting abandoned DC timelines and projects.
While nothing has been confirmed, the timing has fueled online discussion, with many viewing the posters as a reminder of the scale and ambition behind Snyder’s DC vision.

A Look Back at a Divisive DC Era
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice remains one of the most debated superhero films of the modern era.
These newly revealed posters offer a glimpse at what might have been a very different marketing approach, one that leaned harder into mythic imagery and character iconography.
For longtime DC fans, the images feel like a piece of unfinished history resurfacing at exactly the right moment.
