Lionsgate Movies has unleashed the final trailer for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina starring Ana de Armas, with Keanu Reeves reprising his role as the super assassin.
New movie theater posters have also been released. Tickets are now on sale.
What is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina about?
Taking place during the events of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM, BALLERINA follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.
Ana De Armas also recently participated in a Reddit AMA and was asked about her training.
It was pretty intense. I had a nutritionist with a very strict diet with low calories. Training schedule was really insane. Strength training for an hour and half. Then stunt training at 8711 for 4-5 hours. Then go to the car at the shooting range for another hour or 2 practicing with the guns. Then I would go home and do treadmill with a weighted vest. It was painful but I loved it. It felt good.
She also talked about a sword scene.
I did a little sword training, we had so much to tackle. We prepared for the sword scene as much as we could. But I loveed it! It was very difficult. I spent the most time learning about guns and shooting. Spending hours and hours and hours at the shooting range. I got pretty good at it. Didn’t know I could shoot so well. It was fun to do it in that environment. It was fun to train.
She as also asked about fight choreography.
Action movies are so difficult to make because of the coordination and the unity that we need not just with the actors but the entire crew. The choreography goes beyond just the fight. The cameras, the lighting, the special effects, and whatever else has to work perfectly for that shot to work. And it take a tremendous amount of energy from everybody. Especially in Ballerina, the action scenes are really long. One take and very long. There’s not a lot of cuts.
