A new Avengers: Doomsday claim is making the rounds that says the Marvel movie recently held a test screening and “tested on the same level as Infinity War.”
The info comes via Robert Meyer Burnett, who also doubled down on his excitement for the film, saying he came across information about Doomsday from what he described as an “EXTREMELY oversized document,” which has him convinced the movie will “SLAY.”
The timing lines up with reports that new footage will drop at CinemaCon 2026, which kicks off Monday and runs April 13 through April 16 in Las Vegas, with Disney set to take the stage on Thursday, April 16.

Burnett says Doomsday tested on the level of Infinity War
According to a reposted quote circulating on X tied to Burnett, Avengers: Doomsday “had a test screening recently” and “tested on the same level as Infinity War.”
The comparison to Infinity War is a big one as Infinity War was one of the MCU’s biggest event movies and ended with a brutal cliffhanger that left audiences stunned, so putting Doomsday in that same conversation instantly raises expectations.
Of course, Infinity War also led to the even bigger Endgame, much as Doomsday is leading to Secret Wars.
Burnett says he knows enough to be “deliriously excited”
Burnett also posted that after learning what he knows about Avengers: Doomsday, possibly by reading the script – from what he called an “EXTREMELY oversized document” – that he has been “DELIRIOUSLY excited” for the movie and believes it will “SLAY.”
He added that his anticipation for any CinemaCon presentation is “WAY OFF the charts.”
That post adds more fuel to the idea that Marvel might be ready to start pulling back the curtain at CinemaCon. It also lines up with the recent Hollywood Reporter report saying Avengers: Doomsday is “exploding on long-lead tracking,” which points to strong early interest well ahead of release.
He previously compared Doomsday to Infinity War’s structure
What also stands out is that Burnett was already connecting Doomsday to Infinity War nearly a year ago.
In May of last year, Burnett posted that Infinity War was “a pretty decisive ending” even with its cliffhanger tag, and said he imagined Doomsday would likely be the same.
