Ant-Man’s David Dastmalchian Defends James Gunn

Yesterday saw the shocking news that Disney fired James Gunn over a series of tweets from ten years ago that joked about rape and pedophilia.

Following Dave Bautista reacting to the news, now Ant-Man and the Wasp actor David Dastmalchian, and friend to Gunn, responds on Instagram.

i’ve been saying this FOR YEARS! @jamesgunn is one of the most amazing people i’ve ever known – both professionally & personally. there are so many people in our lives that we would never have known without the incredible magnet of talent & goodness that is james (& his awesome partner in life, @jenniferlholland). thanks for making us a part of your family, buddy.

As a result of the firing, James Gunn has been removed from directing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and is no longer a part of Marvel Studios. A replacement has yet to be announced, as the movie is supposed to start filming early next year for its 2020 release.

James Gunn has also responded.
