It sounds like Kevin Feige is throwing in the towel as it is claimed The Marvels has the shortest runtime of any MCU movie.
While the Captain Marvel runtime was over two hours long (2h 4m) the sequel which dropped the writers and directors and character title is reported to have a shorter runtime, which fits with the rumors that Kevin Feige cut content.
It’s claimed The Marvels runtime is either only 1 hour and 38 minutes (98 minutes) or 1hr 47 minutes (107 minutes).
The shortest MCU runtimes include The Incredible Hulk at 1h 52M, Thor: The Dark World at 1h 52M, Doctor Strange at 1h 55M, and Thor and 1H 55M.
Goofy content cut from The Marvels?
Regarding Kevin Feige cutting footage, it’s claimed that following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania being such a big bust, that The Marvels tested so poorly with test screenings and audiences and underwent reshoots that involved the third act of the film and trimming some of the goofier content.
MCU movies such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Thor: Love and Thunder have come under fire for their goofy content.
Reportedly, one of the goofier scenes in The Marvels involves a planet where the inhabitants communicate by singing and the scene is also said to involve the females of the species choosing their husbands, where the men of the species have no say in who they marry, meaning the men cannot consent to marriage.
So if the planet communicates by singing, that means Brie Larson will be singing in The Marvels, and maybe so will Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, as footage has been released where the pair are seemingly on the planet.

They removed some parts mostly from the musical planet

Ms. Marvel bombs on ABC
Speaking of Iman Vellani, her series on Disney+, Ms. Marvel, happens to be the least watched Marvel Disney+ show, and the series recently mega-bombed when it aired on ABC, the worst ratings for any Marvel show on the network.
The Ms. Marvel comic book was also recently canceled and is getting relaunched yet again.
Cast can’t promote The Marvels
The cast of the film also can’t be involved in any promotion due to the ongoing actors and writers strike, which could hurt things, and is the reason Warner Bros. has moved its Dune: Part Two to 2024.
The good news at least for The Marvels is that since Dune: Part Two has been pushed back that apparently The Marvels will now have an IMAX release, while it didn’t previously.
Kevin Feige hoping for the “Barbie” effect
Regarding the short runtime for The Marvels, just like I previously said, also would I think is happening is that Kevin Feige could be hoping for another “Barbie” as Barbie only has a runtime of 1h 54m.
I previously said how The Marvels appears to be similar to Barbie regarding that singing scene, so now it’s learned The Marvels also has a shorter runtime.
No Avengers hype for The Marvels
The first Captain Marvel had the benefit of being sandwiched between two Avengers movies and getting released a month prior to Endgame, but The Marvels will have to stand on its own.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 happened to be a success, though it started out slow, so we’ll have to see who shows up for The Marvels, which will have to have some great legs.
The Marvels gets released on Nov. 10 directed by Nia DaCosta and also stars Teyonah Parris, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon.
Here is the official synopsis:
