Henry Cavill Voltron Movie Moves Forward With Toy Launch

It’s the first update we’ve heard about the Henry Cavill Voltron movie in a while, ever since reports claimed the film would skip theaters and head straight to streaming.

But now there’s finally a new development: Hasbro has announced a licensing deal with Amazon MGM Studios to launch a full toyline based on the upcoming live-action Voltron film.

That could actually suggest the film will now get a theatrical release.

The announcement confirms Hasbro will create a wide range of merchandise, including action figures, roleplay items, and collectibles inspired by the movie’s take on the iconic 1980s anime property.

According to Hasbro, this collaboration allows them to extend their legacy of reviving classic brands into new generations.

“Voltron’s long and rich history strategically aligns with our portfolio of iconic 80s brands,” said Tim Kilpin, President of Toy, Licensing, and Entertainment at Hasbro. “Our collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios will further strengthen the franchise’s longevity and unlock new opportunities to engage both longtime fans and new audiences alike.”

Voltron has no release date. Again, it’s still unclear if the film will go straight to Prime Video or get a theatrical release.

There has also been no official Voltron first looks, poster, images or trailer released. Rumored leaks offer the first info.
