Brie Larson and 'The Marvels' Now Has An IMAX Release

Brie Larson and The Marvels will now have an IMAX release, which is thanks to Warner Bros. pushing back the Dune: Part Two release date.

Originally, Dune: Part Two was set for a Nov. 3, 2023 release date and IMAX confirmed the flick would be getting all the IMAX theater screenings.

So that meant The Marvels wouldn’t be getting an IMAX release, but that has now all changed as Warner Bros. has announced Dune: Part Two will now be released on March 14, 2024.

The reason WB shifted the release date for Dune: Part Two is because of the actors and writers strike, which meant the film’s stars, such as Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, wouldn’t be able to promote the film.

The strike is expected to go on until the end of the year, and that also means Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris won’t be able to promote the release of The Marvels.

Marvel Studios hasn’t delayed the release of The Marvels, which comes out November 10, 2023, so while the actors can’t promote the release of the movie, in a workaround, Iman Vellani is now “writing” for Marvel Comics and is able to promote her new Ms. Marvel comic.

The actors and writers strike only prohibits the promotion of movie and television projects, as comic books are not a part of the unions or the movies or TV shows.

Update: Deadline adds in their report that The Marvels could move up a week and possibly take over the Nov. 3 release date and take advantage of the availability of IMAX screens that are being left behind.
