Tim Allen is back as Buzz Lightyear, the character he made famous, and will return for Toy Story 5.
Disney announced the fifth film in the main franchise on Wednesday along with Frozen 3 and Zootopia 2.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia,” CEO Bob Iger said in the investor call. “We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.”
Following the announcement, Tim Allen took to Twitter to confirm his involvement.
“See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!” Allen tweeted.
No word yet whether Tom Hanks will return to provide the voice of Woody, but with Allen now returning, it seems a given that Hanks will be back as well.

What about Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear?
There has been controversy surrounding Buzz Lightyear as Chris Evans was chosen to voice the character in the Lightyear movie that bombed over Allen.
Tim Allen’s friend, Patricia Heaton, blasted Disney for not using him.
“Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal Tim Allen. Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?” she tweeted back in June of last year.
Lightyear only made $226 million at the box office.
The four Toy Story films have grossed more than $3 billion worldwide.
