Disney may have inadvertently leaked and revealed the main Marvel characters that will be a part of Kevin Feige’s Phase 5 plans for the MCU.
In a deleted article posted by the official Disney Latino website (still available through Google cache) titled (translated) “The 5 Marvel super heroes you have to know before seeing Phase 5 of the MCU,” it’s said the five characters are Kate Bishop, Echo, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, and Ironheart, with Falcon and Anthony Mackie Captain America: New World Order movie also getting a mention.
“Meet the Marvel superheroes who will star in the movie studio’s upcoming productions,” states the article that was posted and then taken down at disneylatino.com. “Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) can enjoy a slew of productions starring their favorite superheroes on Disney+. And soon, with the arrival of Phase 5 of the MCU, new adventures will arrive.”
The article adds, “As we await the arrival of Marvel’s Phase 5, review which Marvel superheroes you should know so you’ll be well prepared when the new movies and series arrive and will be released in 2023.”
Marvel Phase 5 Super Heroes
The article gives a run down of the five characters describing them as “Marvel Phase 5 Super Heroes.”
Worth a mention is that the article really doesn’t go into specifics involving how they will be a part of Phase 5, it only gives a general description.
Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) is listed first and I believe this is really the first time it is said Kate Bishop will be back in the MCU.
Up second is Maya Lopez Echo as a Disney Plus series is currently in development, so maybe we’ll see Hailee Steinfeld there.
Ms. Marvel will feature prominently in Phase 5
Listed third is Ms. Marvel where it’s said: “she will also feature prominently in Phase 5 of the MCU” (Ms. Marvel is confirmed for The Marvels).
“The post-credits scene in the latest episode of Ms. Marvel has given a hint of how the teenager’s story will continue in the next phase of the movie studio,” says the description.
Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil is the fourth where it has been confirmed Charlie Cox is back in She-Hulk and as announced at last month’s Comic-Con, Daredevil: Born Again.
“Murdock will continue to appear in She-Hulk. And in the next Phase of the MCU he will have one more series as the main character: Daredevil: Born Again,” states the description.
Dominique Thorne starring as Ironheart in Phase 5
Listed fifth as part of Marvel’s Phase 5 is Ironheart.
“Dominique Thorne will be officially introduced to audiences as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the trailer for the feature film, set for release in November, the young scientist can be seen in two scenes,” says the description. “In Marvel’s Phase 5, she will star in the Ironheart series.”
Falcon and Captain America: New World Order
A sixth character is also mentioned with Anthony Mackie’s Falcon.
“Falcon will also feature prominently in Marvel’s Phase 5,” states the info.
Regarding the mention of Captain America: New World Order?
The article says, “In addition to meeting the aforementioned superheroes, those who want to have all the stories fresh in their minds for the start of Phase 5 will have to revisit Sam Wilson/Falcon’s (Anthony Mackie) appearances in the MCU.”
“At the end of the Infinity Saga, the character inherits the shield from Captain America (Chris Evans). But the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is where it becomes clear that he will be the new Captain America in the MCU,” says the article about Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.
The article then mentions Captain America: New World Order has already been confirmed (more on the possible future of Captain America in the MCU here).
“Get ready for the arrival of Phase 5 and Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Meet the superheroes you haven’t seen yet and reminisce about the ones that made you rock with a marathon on Disney+,” states the article.
So Marvel’s Phase 5 looks to heavily feature Kate Bishop (new Hawkeye), Echo, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, Ironheart, and the Falcon Captain America.
