The Batman Rotten Tomatoes Score is in as the flick is getting released this week including Wednesday and Thursday early screenings.
Presently, there are only 16 reviews accounted for, with all but one positive as The Batman Rotten Tomatoes Score is at a 94%.
Update: The score got as high as 96% with around 70 reviews, but now has fallen to 87% with 161 reviews.
Update #2: Rotten Tomatoes Score is now 85% with 240 reviews; Audience Score is at 96%.
The Audience Score will become available as the film gets released, and we’ll be sure to update the latest numbers.
For a comparison, Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman has a 29% Rotten Tomatoes Score, Christopher Nolan’s films come in at The Dark Knight Rises with 87%, The Dark Knight 94%, Batman Begins 84%, and the four previous including the two Michael Keaton films include Batman & Robin 12%, Batman Forever 39%, Batman Returns 80%, and Batman at 72%.
The Batman reviews are overwhelmingly positive
Regarding what the reviews have to say so far, the lone negative review comes from the Midwest Filming Journal who offers The Batman is a “dull and dreary rehash of better bat-films.”
And for the positive reviews, of course, Comic Book Movie loves it: “Delivering the definitive take on the Worlds Greatest Detective, The Batman is a sweeping, cinematic masterpiece thats both DCs best film and one of the most captivating, relentless, and unforgettable comic book movies ever made.”
Discussing Film also gives the movie five stars: “Robert Pattinson gives a restrained, yet sometimes unbridled and explosive performance as Batman”
Screen Crush also says it isn’t the same Batman movie: “I appreciated Reeves ambitions and his willingness to do something that wasn’t just more of the same old Batman.”
Awards Watch goes so far as to say it’s one of the best comic book movies of the past twenty years: “…a heart-pounding action and spectacle that adds up to one of the best comic book action movies we’ve gotten in the last two decades.”
The Spanish site CineXpress says more of the same: “One of the greatest Batman stories ever told on film.”
The Weekend Warrior calls the film epic in its review: “An epic piece of film mastery that transcends its comic book origins, making it a movie that should elevate Matt Reeves to his well-deserved visionary status.”
The French site Extra Beurre says the flick is really dark: “An ultra-dark crime and corruption story, both visually and thematically.”
Digital Spy also says the film will leave you wanting for more: “The Batman is an enthralling, chilling and fresh new take on the iconic DC hero that’ll leave you desperate for another visit to this impeccably-crafted world.”
The Batman box office is also expected to well open over $100 million; the film officially opens on March 4 and also stars Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, John Turturro, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Peter Sarsgaard, Jayme Lawson, and Andy Serkis.
