Lewis Pullman Teases Big Character Moments In Avengers: Doomsday

Lewis Pullman is opening up about Avengers: Doomsday, and according to the actor, fans can expect more than just a packed cast standing around for screen time.

Pullman, who returns as Bob Reynolds, also known as Sentry, after making his debut in 2025’s Thunderbolts*, said the Russo brothers are making sure every character matters.

Lewis Pullman Says Avengers: Doomsday Gives Every Character A Moment

Speaking with Esquire Magazine, Pullman explained that Avengers: Doomsday gets back to what makes these characters work in the first place.

“It’s going back to the serum of the human archetypes that our art is built off of,” Pullman said. “Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them.”

That should be welcome news for Marvel fans, especially with Avengers: Doomsday expected to feature a huge ensemble. One of the biggest concerns with movies like this is always whether certain heroes will be pushed to the side. Pullman says that won’t be happening.

Russo Brothers Reportedly Avoiding Background Roles

Pullman also praised Joe and Anthony Russo for how they are handling the massive cast.

“The Russo brothers did that so well,” he said. “They do not want anyone just sitting in the background. They really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together.”

That sounds like the Russos are trying to avoid one of the common complaints that comes with crossover movies, where some of the biggest names end up with little to do while the story focuses only on a select few.

Lewis Pullman Teases Exciting Marvel Pair-Ups

Pullman also hinted that Avengers: Doomsday will deliver some unexpected team-ups between characters.

“There’s a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen,” he said. “A lot of fans will be really excited. It’s so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D would work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come into fruition.”

That could end up being one of the movie’s biggest selling points. Marvel fans have spent years imagining which characters would be fun to see share scenes together, and Pullman is teasing that Doomsday may finally deliver on a lot of those ideas.

What It Could Mean For Sentry

Since Pullman is reprising Bob Reynolds following Thunderbolts*, his comments are also interesting because Sentry is one of Marvel’s most powerful characters. If the movie is really giving each character a meaningful role, it suggests Marvel may have something substantial planned for him instead of using him as a background power piece.

With Avengers: Doomsday shaping up as one of Marvel’s next major event films, Pullman’s comments offer at least a little reassurance that the cast won’t simply be there for poster shots and quick cameos.
