The recent episode of the Disney Plus Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, revealed Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano as well as the name of Baby Yoda with Grogu.
The episode, one of the better of the series, kicked off with the Ahsoka Tano reveal as she wielded dual lightsabers.

Hasbro also revealed its Ahsoka Tano Force FX lightsaber.
While not much was revealed about Ahsoka other than name-dropping Grand Admiral Thrawn, perhaps more anticipating than the Ahsoka Tano reveal (as we all knew it was coming) was information about Baby Yoda, as the creature has been an enigmatic part of the series.
The episode saw Ahsoka able to communicate with Baby Yoda where he revealed his true name, Grogu, and that his origin includes he was raised at the Jedi Temple in Coruscant, and trained by several Master Jedi.
Baby Yoda Grogu’s origin
Putting the puzzle pieces together, Baby Yoda Grogu’s origin includes:
- Grogu was born around 41 BBY (he’s 50 years old)
- Raised at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and trained by Master Jedi
- Somehow escaped Order 66 and Anakin killing the younglings
- Grogu was rescued from the Jedi Temple by an unknown individual
- Grogu was taken into hiding after the Galactic Empire rose to power
- Grogu concealed his Force powers in order to keep from being detected
- Baby Yoda, aka The Asset, was held by Nikto mercenaries on Arvala-7
- Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) was hired to retrieve Baby Yoda by an Imperial
- Baby Yoda was experimented upon and his blood (Midi-chlorians) was used to create Force-sensitive creatures, clones and might be responsible for the creation of Snoke (unconfirmed)
- Din Djarin went back, saved, and refused to hand over The Child
- Din Djarin was tasked with reuniting The Child with The Jedi
- Din Djarin found Ahsoka Tano who refused to train Baby Yoda but revealed his origins and true name
- Ahsoka Tano sent Din Djarin to the ruins of an ancient Jedi Temple on Tython in hopes that another Jedi would take notice and train Grogu in the ways of The Force
