With the first movie having basically launched a shared universe, a rumor has landed online regarding both Charles Dances’ character and a possible Godzilla: King of the Monsters post-credit scene.
While not much is known about who Charles Dance is playing, other than what was shown in the new Comic-Con trailer (watch below), a rumor has it that the actor will be “playing a terrorist leader who works in a black market that circulates whatever resources that can be gathered from monsters / titans.”
The rumor actually may have some merit as plot details recently revealed for Godzilla: King of the Monsters include that Vera Farmiga’s Dr. Emma Russell is a scientist working for Monarch, and her daughter Madison, who is portrayed by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, get kidnapped by a “a mysterious organization, with their own plans for the creatures.” It’s possible via the rumor above that Charles Dance is involved with that “mysterious organization.”
Regarding the Godzilla: King of the Monsters post-credit scene, it is also said to involve Charles Dance’s mystery character, with no further details known, but it is noted the scene may be scrapped in favor of a Godzilla: King of the Monsters post-credit scene teasing the next movie, Godzilla vs Kong, which is due out in 2020.
Who knows? Maybe Charles Dance will be featured in King Kong vs Godzilla as well?
The film has a May 31, 2019 release.
