First Look Teaser, Poster Unleashed
A brand-new poster for Mortal Kombat II has also been released, showing off the iconic dragon symbol glowing with ominous green energy. It confirms the October 24 release date and that the movie was filmed for IMAX, promising a larger-than-life experience when Realms kollide this fall.

Johnny Cage Hypes the Hype
Along with the poster, Warner Bros. dropped a hilarious teaser featuring footage from Johnny’s in-universe movie, Uncaged Fury. An IMDb profile for Johnny Cage — officially played by Karl Urban — loaded with fictional movie credits and arrogant Cage-isms has also been released. That includes mock titles like Hard to Cage, Rebel Without a Cage, and Cool Hand Cage.

They didn’t stop there. The studio also shared a poster for one of Cage’s fake in-universe movies, Uncaged Fury, featuring Cage mid-explosion with helicopters, shades, and ego intact.

Trailer Drops Tomorrow — “Kountdown” Starts Early
The first full trailer for Mortal Kombat II will debut Wednesday, July 17, at 9am PT. Ahead of that, a YouTube event called the Mortal Kombat II | Trailer Event Kountdown will begin streaming at 8:05am PT, leading right into the premiere (see below).
According to the promo: “Realms will kollide.”
And with creator Ed Boon recently saying the finished film “nailed it,” and test audiences reacting like it was Avengers: Endgame, expectations are high.

Mortal Kombat II hits theaters and IMAX on October 24, 2025.
The sequel is directed by Simon McQuoid, who also helmed the 2021 reboot, and written by Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight, The Exorcist).
The cast includes: Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Josh Lawson as Kano, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Ana Thu Nguyen as Sindel, and Damon Herriman as Quan Chi.
Expect additional surprise character appearances teased by the filmmakers.
