X-Men’s James Marsden Interested In Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie Star-Lord Role & 7 Others

Finally we get some news regarding the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and up first is Star-Lord.

While fan-favorite choice Nathan Fillion is nowhere to be found, Deadline has short list of five actors for the role of Peter Quill, in addition to three more they say are interested, and one of them is James Marsden, known for playing Scott Summers/Cyclops in the X-Men movies.

Joel Edgerton (Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty), Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston, Cloud Atlas’ Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace (LincolnThe Hobbit), and Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables are said to be contenders.

In addition to James Marsden, Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) and Tron: The Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund are said to be interested as well.

Deadline describes the Guardians as being from the future and another dimension, we’re assuming they are mistaken and confusing that with the original Guardians.

Here’s pics of all the actors in order as they are mentioned above:

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release date and is directed by James Gunn.
