Pacific Rim 2 is officially underway.

John Boyega, known for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, took to Instagram to share the good news.

“First day on Pacific Rim today. Here’s to a great adventure ahead,” John Boyga posted along with his copy of the Pacific Rim 2 script, featuring the title of the sequel, “Malestrom.”

Boeyga added in a second post: “Grey skies today but here to put the beat down on some kaiju. Sydney sorry for the exploding buildings and giant lizard sightings. It’s for your own safety.”

Details for Pacific Rim 2 include that it will film in Australia and China, and that John Boyega plays the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first movie. Charlie Hunnam will not be returning.

Pacific Rim 2 has a February 23, 2018 release directed by Steven S. DeKnight also starring Tian Jing, Scott Eastwood, Max Martini returning as Herc Hansen, and Ron Perlman returns as Hannibal Chau.
