Guardians of the Galaxy 2019 Announced By Marvel Comics

This was probably supposed to launch in conjunction with the third movie – and now that isn’t happening – but Marvel Comics announces they are once again relaunching Guardians of the Galaxy.

This time the series will be from Donny Cates and artist Geoff Shaw, known for the recent Thanos series and the not-so-stellar Cosmic Ghost Rider.

Worth a mention is that the logo found in the below Guardians of the Galaxy 2019 teaser image is from the Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning 2008 series that inspired the movie, and not the crappy Bendis version.

Hopefully this means that similar to the new Infinity Wars series, this new Guardians of the Galaxy comic will be a cool science-fiction take on the characters and not like the goofy James Gunn and Bendis version.

Details about Guardians of the Galaxy 2019 include that Marvel Comics released the teaser with advance reviews for Thanos Legacy #1.

“Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw will soon reveal… #WhoAreTheGuardians,” the double-page spread teaser offers.

Thanos Legacy #1 gets released Wednesday and features Thanos, Eros and Cosmic Ghost Rider, three characters who I hope aren’t making up the Guardians.

We do see characters such as Richard Rider Nova, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Adam Warlock, Howard the Duck (no, thanks), Cosmo, Ronan, the original Guardians, Gladiator, Super Skrull, Wraith (from Annihilation: Conquest and who we haven’t seen in like ten years, I believe), Moondragon, Gamora and more.

Also, I don’t see Wendell Vaughn Quasar in the image??

The new Guardians of the Galaxy gets released January 2019. Hopefully it’s good.
