Shawn Levy’s Star Wars Movie Gets ‘Adam Project’ Writer Jonathan Tropper

Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie continues moving forward with Lucasfilm hiring Jonathan Tropper to pen the script.

Levy, attached to the project since late 2022, has previously collaborated with Tropper on several projects, including the 2014 family drama, This Is Where I Leave You, and recently on the successful Netflix film, The Adam Project.

It’s currently unknown when Shawn Levy will be starting his Star Wars movie. He has a busy schedule which includes Deadpool & Wolverine and the final season of Stranger Things. Levy also happens to be rumored to be tackling either Marvel’s big Avengers 5 or Avengers: Secret Wars.

Jonathan Tropper is also known for creating the TV shows, Banshee and Warrior.

A new Star Wars movie has been released since Rise of the Skywalker back in 2019. In development at Lucasfilm includes Jon Farvreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is supposed to get released on May 22, 2026.

The new Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie, rumored to be titled “A New Beginning,” is also in development, though is currently awaiting the script to be finished.

Deadpool & Wolverine gets released on July 26.
