Fans are eagerly awaiting the official Superman trailer starring David Corenswet (it hasnât been released), so much so they are creating fake versions through use of artificial intelligence.
Well, one trailer happened to bamboozle a French news station who ran with a fake Superman trailer from YouTube.
Fake Superman trailer fools French news station
âThis weekend in #20h, we unfortunately broadcast fake trailer extracts in the hope of illustrating the next #Superman. We apologize to our viewers and the film crew,â the station tweeted (translated).
đŽ Ce week-end dans le #20h, nous avons malencontreusement diffusĂ© de faux extraits de bande-annonce en souhaitant illustrer le prochain #Superman.

James Gunn reacts with puke emojis
Worth a mention is that the fake Superman trailer doesnât even look real, or good, for that matter. It also features footage of Henry Cavill from Man of Steel (lol). James Gunn caught wind of it and tweeted a reaction featuring three puke emojis.

Bozo X account posts fake AI Superman images
Thatâs not all as some bozo account on X claiming to work for Sony posted fake AI images of David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Hawkgirl. As I tweeted, theyâre fake AF simply by zooming in on Corenswetâs hand revealing goofy AF fingers (AI has a tough time with fingers for whatever reason). The account also posted its own fake trailer, and apparently isnât a big fan of that Superman and Krypto image.

James Gunn shoots the fake pics down
Fans questioned James Gunn about the images, who shot them down: âHell, no,â said Gunn.

When does the real Superman trailer get released?
James Gunn hasnât officially announced the release date for the first Superman trailer, though he has teased it. The best guess right now is in December at Brazilâs big CCXP.
Gunn was recently asked about the Superman trailer and footage while appearing at the NYCC over the weekend.
â It wonât be too long before we see a trailer but itâs also not going to be too soon,â Gunn said, while also previously seemingly hinting the trailer would be released before the end of the year. Check out what to expect here.
Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
