James Gunn On Superman Trailer Release: ‘Not Too Long’

James Gunn appeared Saturday at the New York Comic-Con for Creature Commandos and gave an update on the Superman trailer release, as some fans were hoping for footage.

“Is there a trailer, yet?”

Gunn was asked by host Josh Horotwitz if has the Superman trailer on him questioning, “Is there a trailer, yet?”

“See, now you’re teasing them,” Gunn replied with a big laugh and smile. “I don’t have a trailer, guys. Don’t get too excited. There is no trailer. No Superman trailer.”

Gunn teases he has Superman trailer footage

Gunn continued and did teased, “I have some stuff on my phone.”

Horowitz joked, “Everybody! Let’s rush him and get his phone!”

Gunn playfully shot back and continued to tease, “I took it off me just in case people attacked me. Somebody in the audience has it. You’ll have to guess who.”

Gunn then shifted gears, adding, “There’s lots of stuff. It won’t be too long before we see a trailer but it’s also not going to be too soon.”

When will the Superman trailer be released?

While James Gunn didn’t announce when the Superman trailer will be released, the best guess is likely Saturday, December 7th at Brazil’s big CCXP where it is expected Gunn and the Superman cast will be in attendance.

Superman gets released on July 11, 2025 also starring Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult.
