Mortal Kombat II brings in Johnny Cage
Mortal Kombat II raises the stakes from the 2021 movie and brings in one of the franchise’s biggest fan-favorite characters, Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban.
The official synopsis says the champions are now joined by Johnny Cage and thrown into the ultimate no-holds-barred and gory battle against the dark rule of Shao Kahn, which threatens Earthrealm and its defenders.
That should be a big selling point for fans, as Johnny Cage was one of the most talked-about missing characters from the first movie.

Cast includes returning favorites and new faces
Karl Urban leads the sequel as Johnny Cage.
The cast also includes Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.
That gives the sequel a mix of returning characters and fresh additions as it builds toward the fight against Shao Kahn.
