Callum Vinson has officially been cast as Atreus in Prime Video’s God of War, the live-action series from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. The series is produced in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
The project is based on PlayStation’s massively popular mythology-themed video game franchise and has already received a two-season order. Pre-production is underway in Vancouver, with casting now actively moving forward.
Who Is Atreus in God of War?
Atreus is the ten-year-old son of Kratos, raised in isolation in a remote forest cabin by his mother, Faye. He is an accomplished archer with an affinity for animals and a deep curiosity about the world beyond his secluded upbringing.
Following his mother’s death, Atreus is left with a distant and emotionally closed-off father who barely knows him. As the two set out on a dangerous journey, Atreus seeks his father’s approval while trying to prove he is strong enough to survive a brutal world. At the same time, Kratos attempts to teach his son how to be a god, while Atreus pushes his father to reconnect with his humanity.
Callum Vinson’s Growing Resume
This marks Vinson’s third project with Sony Pictures Television. He appears in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s The Night Agent and previously starred in Peacock’s Long Bright River.
Vinson is represented by Rebel Creative Group and Innovative Artists.
