Legendary filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer-producer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead Sunday inside their Brentwood, Los Angeles home, according to multiple reports.
Sources confirmed to various outlets that the couple’s bodies were discovered at the residence on the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue.
Reiner was 78. Michele Reiner was 68.

LAPD Investigation Update
Multiple sources now tell People that Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were allegedly killed by their son, Nick Reiner, inside the family’s Brentwood home.
Sources say the couple died as a result of a stabbing. LAPD has not officially confirmed the identities of the victims or the cause of death, and no arrest has been announced.
During an earlier press conference, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said police were not seeking any suspects or persons of interest at that time.
Authorities have since confirmed the investigation remains ongoing and that final determinations will be made pending findings from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. According to People, Nick Reiner, 32, is alive and being questioned.
It’s known that Reiner’s son, Nick, had a long battle with drug addiction and periods of homelessness.

Family Confirms Tragic Loss
The Reiner family released a statement confirming the deaths, saying: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
One of the couple’s children reportedly contacted authorities after discovering the scene.
People also reveal that Reiner and his wife were found by their daughter.

Following news of the deaths, tributes began pouring in from across Hollywood and public life.
Billy Crystal and Larry David were seen visiting the home Sunday evening. Crystal starred in Reiner’s When Harry Met Sally…, while Reiner memorably appeared as himself on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Rob Reiner rose to fame as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family before becoming one of Hollywood’s most respected directors, with credits including This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, Misery, A Few Good Men, and The American President.
