The galaxy awaits! Nintendo and Illumination have officially released the first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, giving fans a vibrant look at the cosmic sequel to the 2023 smash hit.
New Characters Join the Adventure
Along with returning stars Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek), the trailer confirms two major additions to the voice cast with Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.
Rosalina’s debut was long speculated after the sequel’s “Galaxy” title was revealed. She’s a key character from the *Super Mario Galaxy* games and a fan-favorite figure in the wider Mario universe. Bowser Jr.’s inclusion also raises the stakes, potentially adding a new layer to the villainy alongside Jack Black’s Bowser.

The new poster shows Mario, Peach, and various Toads sailing across a sparkling ocean beneath a meteor shower, with a towering galactic castle in the background. The setting appears to expand well beyond the Mushroom Kingdom, hinting at a story that spans planets, stars, and possibly even time and space. It’s a dramatic visual upgrade from the original film and ties directly into the aesthetics of the Super Mario Galaxy video game series.
