The The Batman Part II Robin rumor just got a boost from Grace Randolph, who says she’s heard it’s correct — even as James Gunn publicly denies it and Jeff Sneider blasts the DC Studios boss over his response.
Gunn Denies, Randolph Disagrees
Last week, Jeff Sneider claimed Robin is in the script for Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel. James Gunn responded:
“Guys please stop believing this nonsense. I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about The Batman 2.”
Now on Thursday, during her own coverage of the story, Grace Randolph said she’s heard the rumor is accurate, putting her at odds with Gunn’s public statements:
“I heard that rumor was correct…”

Jeff Sneider Gets Heated
As we went over, the rumor originated with entertainment scooper Jeff Sneider, who wasn’t happy about Gunn’s dismissal of his info. Speaking on The Hot Mic YouTube show, Sneider accused Gunn of being untrustworthy and said he stood by his source:
“I know who my source is. I know my source has been right about a whole bunch of stories that have been confirmed this week… Unfortunately, James Gunn has proven himself to be about as trustworthy as Lance Armstrong in my book. I don’t believe a word out of his mouth… One of the things I was told unequivocally, Robin is in the script…”

What has Matt Reeves said?
Interestingly enough, a previous interview from Reeves saw the director hint at Robin for the sequel, a Reeves grew up watching the 1966 Batman & Robin show.
Who could play Robin?
How about Javon Walton as Robin? He’s 19 years old and starred in HBO’s Euphoria. Dude’s also in good shape and has been training. His schedule is currently wide opening, according to IMDb.

What We Know About The Batman Part II
While the truth about Robin’s role remains unclear, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed in its latest investor report: “The Batman II (2027) is preparing to begin shooting next spring, among several other projects in development.”
Robert Pattinson returns as the Dark Knight, with Matt Reeves once again directing. The film is part of DC’s Elseworlds label, separate from Gunn’s DCU continuity.
The Batman: Part II gets released October 1, 2027.
