Sonic 4 Teaser Reveals Chaos Is Coming: Jim Carrey Back As Robotnik

Sonic 4 Teaser Reveals Chaos Is Coming: Jim Carrey Back As Robotnik

Paramount has released a new teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 with the line, “The countdown to chaos has begun,” while confirming the movie opens in theaters March 19, 2027.

The short title reveal also leans hard into the Chaos Emerald angle, flashing diamond imagery and a darker threat aimed at Sonic’s world.

The footage teases a bigger threat

The teaser shows a hammer cracking apart, character images trapped inside diamond-like shards, and a pair of glowing red eyes watching from the dark.

A voice says, “You think your world is safe. But your time is about to run out. The chaos has only just begun,” which makes it clear Paramount is setting up a bigger danger for the next movie.

The hammer appears to fuel the Amy Rose theory

The biggest talking point is the hammer. Fans have already been linking that imagery to Amy Rose, since she is known in Sonic lore for her signature Piko Piko Hammer.

It’s confirmed Kristen Bell will be voicing the character.

Sonic 4 recently started filming

The teaser follows director Jeff Fowler’s recent confirmation that Sonic 4 has started production.

Fowler previously posted from set to announce filming was underway, so Paramount now appears to be shifting from the production-start phase into the early marketing push.

Chaos looks like the focus this time

Between the diamond visuals, the ominous voice-over, the red eyes, and the repeated use of the word “chaos,” the teaser suggests Sonic 4 could be going bigger with Chaos Emerald mythology and whatever new villain is being introduced.

Paramount is not giving away much yet, but it is enough to get fans talking, especially with the Amy Rose speculation now getting another boost from the hammer imagery.
