Zack Snyder once again takes to the Vero app to offer a new image of Batman.
"One of Richard Cetrone as requested," Snyder posted.
Cetrone is the stuntman for Ben Affleck in Batman vs. Superman, Suicide Squad and Justice League, and he is also known for the Affleck Daredevil movie, Watchmen, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, Thor, Captain America, and lots more.
Cool pic (it also recently became known Snyder was going to kill the character in the DCEU).
The current status of Ben Affleck is up in the air as rumors have been swirling he is leaving the role. Affleck departed directing The Batman almost two years ago when he released the following statement on Jan. 30, 2017:
“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”
Back in 2012 when I exclusively revealed the title "The Batman," I was told the flick was going to feature a younger version of the Dark Knight in his second year of being a hero; however, the gig went to the older Ben Affleck and things obviously changed.
Now rumors are pointing to the Matt Reeves movie featuring a younger version, and there is speculation the story could take place in the past, with possibly Affleck bookending the movie as he introduces the film and then appears at the end.
This past Summer saw Reeves offer the script is almost done, so we can assume it is probably all ready to go by now. It has further been said the movie will start filming in the Spring.
Details revealed by Matt Reeves include that the story will be original.
"Obviously we’re not doing an origin tale or anything like that," Reeves said. "We’re doing a story that is definitively Batman though and trying to tell a story that’s emotional and yet is really about him being the world’s greatest detective and all the things that for me, since I was a kid, made me love Batman.”
Reeves also hinted that it's a noir-driven story and not a continuation of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy.
“I’ve talked about making it a very point of view noir-driven definitive Batman story in which he is investigating a particular case and that takes us out into the world of Gotham,” Reeves said. “I went on a deep dive again revisiting all my favorite comics. Those all inform by osmosis. There’s no continuation of the Nolan films. It’s very much trying to find a way to do this as something that for me is going to be definitively Batman and new and cool.”
Jack O'Connell is a name that has been rumored to play the young version of the Caped Crusader.
