Has it sunk in yet that Zachary Levi is going to play Captain Marvel aka Shazam for the DCEU?

Yesterday saw the surprise announcement that the Marvel Studios Thor: Ragnarok Fangral actor nabbed the role, which seemed to take the internet off guard.

Many fans online were thinking a buffer and tougher actor was going to land the role of DC’s muscular magic guy; however, following the casting announcement it was learned that Zachary Levi is in training to pack on the pounds for Shazam as he recently finished a four-hour workout routine (assumed to be one of many).

Zachary Levi isn’t a tiny guy by any means as he comes in at 6’3″, which is just two inches shy of Dwayne Johnson who is set to play Black Adam, and around the same height as Superman Henry Cavill.

Chris Pratt got into super shape for the role or Marvel’s Star-Lord, so it’s obviously possible Zachary Levi can do the same.

That said, check out Zachary Levi as Shazam fan art below, which may help you accept the actor in the role!

The Shazam movie has an April 2019 release date directed by David F. Sandberg.
