‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2 First Look Reveals Spider-Gwen

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2 First Look Reveals Spider-Gwen

Marvel Studios’ DEI-filled and woke origin story for Spidey, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, reveals a first look at Season 2 with Spider-Gwen.

The show’s creator, who inserted himself into what could have been a cool series, posted a first look at Season 2 on social media following the end of Season 1 this week.

“The Neighborhood just got a little more Friendly. See you next season!” said Jeff Trammell.

How does Spider-Gwen fit into Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2?

Note: Spoilers follow for Season 1.

Gwen Stacy doesn’t appear in Season 1. Obviously from the look of her character design, she gets spider powers.

So the end of Season 1 reveals that Peter quits and no longer works for Norman Osborn. Instead, Harry forms a company for young geniuses.

We can guess that likely upsets Norman who apparently discovers another Spider-Man, only it’s a spider-woman, Spider-Gwen.

Chronologically, the spider that bit Peter was last seen in the first episode, crawling into another student’s bag—likely Gwen Stacy’s. This suggests the spider later bites her, making her Osborn’s new Spider-Man. The artwork also reveals that Gwen has tech, likely provided by Osborn, just as he supplied Peter with different suits.

In Spider-Man lore, Spider-Gwen is from a different universe where she is bitten by the spider instead of Peter.

Ditch the lecturing for Season 2

I also updated my review. I finished watching Season 1, and if not for all the injected woke content, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man wouldn’t have been that bad. The Spider-Man scenes are really top notch. The foreshadowing in the last episode and how they tie things up and connect things is well done. The overall animation could be better, but again, the Spider-Man scenes come off cool (Spider-Man vs Scorpion, especially). It would be nice if they ditched all the lecturing for Season 2, but with Spider-Gwen revealed, it seems unlikely. We just have to hope the DEI money runs out.
