X-Men '97 Episode Titles Revealed

We get an X-Men ’97 Christmas present with the reveal of the episode titles for the series that premiers on Disney+ in 2024.

The show is described as retro and a love letter to the original and picks up the torch from the original series. It’s also known Season 2 is already in the works.

No release date has been announced but Disney+ did recently confirm the series will be released in 2024. Check out the list of the episode titles below.

“This is the first X-Men title produced by Marvel Studios,” Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studio, said back in 2021. “What an amazing first step to reintroduce audiences to the X-Men with a look at one of the most pinnacle eras of the X-Men comics, which was the ‘90s. That iconic style that has its roots in Chris Claremont, and is celebrated in Jim Lee, and then again in The Animated Series.”

What is the X-Men ’97 series about?

“We’re gonna be picking up about several months after Professor X left Earth after being shot by Henry Gyrich and had to return to the Shi’ar homeworld to be with Lilandra. And what ends up happening is that assassination attempt has led to this wave of increased sympathy towards mutants and understanding. Despite the Friends of Humanity still having their mullets and getting all kind of up in it, things are really starting to look up for mutants,” revealed writer and executive producer behind the series, Beau DeMayo, back in March.

DeMayo continued, “And this is going to kind of come to a head and leads to our X-Men to kind of say, ‘What does the future hold for us? We weren’t expecting this.’ And you’re going to have pretty much Cyclops and Storm really wanting to carry on the dream. They’ve recruited Morph and Bishop to actually become full-time members of the team while other X-Men like Jean, and the ‘will they won’t they couple’ Gambit and Rogue are starting to begin to question maybe there is a life we’ve been fighting to be for this life of acceptance. ‘Can we just go out there and enjoy it for once, maybe?’”

DeMayo also added about the Master of Magnetism who gets a new costume, “And then, of course, somebody shows up who shouldn’t show up and it’s Magneto, who’s also kind of feeling like, ‘Professor X, he did a solid for mutantkind, I’m going to try and walk in his footsteps, I’m going to try and be a force of good for mutantkind.’”

X-Men ’97 will feature the voice talents of original X-Men: The Animated Series cast members including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, Adrian Hough, and Christopher Britton, who will both reprise their original roles and voicing entirely brand-new parts.

New voice talent includes Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio.
