Comic book movie fansâ wildest dream is for the film studios to one day do a gigantic Marvel crossover featuring Wolverine, Iron Man, the Avengers, Spider-Man and X-Men.
The actors all seem up for it, but as corporate red-tape is involved the chances of seeing it actually happen on the big screen seem slim to none.
However, it turns out that wasnât the case back in 2000 when Sam Raimi was filming Spider-Man as Sony was going to allow Hugh Jackman to cameo as Wolverine (owned by Fox Studios).
Hugh Jackman told the Huffington Post all about it.
In the first âSpider-Manâ â Kevin Feige reminded me of this â we really tried to get me to come on and do something, whether it was a gag or just to walk through the shot or something. The problem was, we couldnât find the suit. The suit was stuck in some thing. And so when they were in New York when I was there, we couldnât get it together. So, you know, I actually asked some high level people about it. Because the optimist in me goes, âWhy not? Why canât we do it? You know, a split cast or whatever?â And someone reminded that the amount of money Fox paid compared to the amount of money Disney paid is very different [laughs]. So how you split that pie up? God knows. But in the comic books, whatâs great about it is theyâre just mashing together all the time â and itâs awesome. And people are like, âYeah, well, letâs get this one with that!â And, you know, I still think, one day, there may be an ability to do it.
While it seems rather strange that they âcouldnât find his suit,â just think if they did what it may have led to down the road.
As Jackman notes, perhaps one day weâll get that crossover movie.
