Will Smith Deadshot Movie In The Works

Will Smith Deadshot Movie In The Works

Will Smith looks to be getting his own Suicide Squad movie focusing on his character, the assassin, Deadshot.

THR reports WB is fast-tracking the Margot Robbie all-female villains Gotham City Sirens movie and makes mention that not only is Suicide Squad 2 in development, but also that WB is looking into a spinoff featuring Deadshot, the assassin character played by Will Smith.

Will Smith appeared in Suicide Squad who was portrayed more as an anti-hero than a straight-up “villain,” as Will Smith’s Deadshot was shown with his daughter. Deadshot was also shown to have a history with Batman, and Will Smith has even been rumored for the Ben Affleck Batman solo film in what has said could be a major role.

I attended the Suicide Squad taping of Conan O’Brien this past Summer at the San Diego Comic-Con and from what I saw, Will Smith was really excited for his involvement in the movie and as Deadshot. Assuming the Deadshot movie isn’t a prequel, other members of the Suicide Squad cast could be in the Deadshot movie as well.

No release date has been set for the Deadshot movie.

The Suicide Squad Blu-Ray is also released today.
