HBO has released the first episode of the Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, for free on YouTube.
All you have to do is sign in and be of age.
It’s also no coincidence that HBO released the episode for free on YouTube when it did as Amazon also premiered the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series on Thursday night, so we see the streaming wars are heating up.
So who won?
Well, we don’t have the viewership for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power just yet but we do know House of the Dragon set a record for viewership on HBO by netting 10 million views for its premiere episode which saw HBO greenlight the series for another season.
What we do have is reviews where the fans seem overwhelmingly to be in favor of HBO’s House of the Dragon.
Fans love House of the Dragon
With the first two episodes of House of the Dragon released, the Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score is at 84% with its IMDb rating at 8.9.
Fans are not liking Lord of the Rings
The first two episodes of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have also been released and the Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score is plummeting and fans are destroying it.
In about two hours the score dropped from 45% and is now down to 38%. Ouch. The IMDb rating is now at a 6.6. from a 7.1.
