Warwick Davis Returns in HBO’s Harry Potter Series

The new HBO Original Harry Potter television series has announced Warwick Davis will reprise his role as Professor Filius Flitwick, bringing the actor back to Hogwarts in a character he first portrayed in the films.

The news arrives on September 1, the annual Back to Hogwarts celebration, when fans around the world mark the return to the iconic school of witchcraft and wizardry.

New Cast Members

Alongside Davis, HBO confirmed seven new additions to the cast:

  • Students: Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, and William Nash as Gregory Goyle
  • Staff: Sirine Saba as Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey
  • Gringotts: Leigh Gill as Griphook

The Cast

The previously announced cast includes:

Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom.

Also starring includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell (recurring), and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch (recurring).

They’re joined by Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch, Anton Lesser as Ollivander, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.

Release Info

The Harry Potter series is set to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max, including upcoming launch markets such as Germany, Italy, and the UK.
