British singer, songwriter, television personality, and actress Rita Ora is unrecognizable in the upcoming live-action Voltron movie. She recently appeared at Variety‘s Oscar party earlier in the month and talked about the film.
Variety teased that she is unrecognizable in Voltron, which she confirmed, but wouldn’t say more. It could very well be possible she plays Haggar the Witch.
What did Rita Ora say about Voltron?
Variety mentioning how unrecognizable she is, put a smile on the face of Rita Ora, who replied:
I am. I cannot say too much. I’ve been sworn to secrecy but I’m very excited for every to find out…
Rita Ora continued and made mention of her co-stars Sterling K. Brown and Henry Cavill:
Sterling K. Brown and myself. Henry Cavill and lots of incredible people… Yes. Don’t make me say too much. I’ll get in trouble… They just so talented. I actually learned so much from them. They’re very professional. Extremely… prepared, so it’s awesome.
It’s also unknown who Brown and Cavill are playing. Could Brown be Emperor Zarkon? Maybe Henry Cavill as King Alfor (spotted on set with longer and curlier hair)?

Who is Haggar the Witch?
Haggar the Witch is a powerful sorceress who serves Emperor Zarkon in the Voltron universe. She’s one of the main villains, known for creating monstrous Robeasts to fight Voltron. Haggar wields dark magic and advanced alchemy, capable of mind control, energy blasts, shapeshifting, and manipulating reality. In some versions, she’s revealed to be Altean, tying her to the same race as Princess Allura.
Who stars?
While the cast has been announced, the roles have remained under wraps. It’s thought the younger actors will be making up the Lion pilots.
Along with Rita Ora, Henry Cavill, and Sterling K. Brown, also starring includes Alba Baptista (recently spotted on set with husband Chris Evans), Daniel Quinn-Toye, Samson Kayo, John Kim, Tharanya Tharan, Laura Gordon, and Tim Griffin.
What is Voltron about?
The plot has also been kept under wraps, but director Rawson Marshall Thurber recently teased their film reimagines Voltron for the live-action world and uses an entirely new generation of pilots.
“You know, I loved Voltron since I was a boy, and I wanted to make this movie since I was eight years old. And so to finally, finally have the chance to bring Voltron to life is beyond thrilling to me. I want to make sure that we stay true to the heart, and the spirit of Voltron,” he said when the film first started shooting in Australia.
Thurber continued, “In this film, we’re going to be introducing an entirely new generation of pilots. We’ve reimagined Voltron for the live-action world but we’re going to stay true to the heart and the spirit of Voltron and those iconic elements that you love, that I love. And so I am so excited to share it with you.”
He added, “You know, it’s taken us forty years to get here, but I promise you, I promise you it will be worth the wait.”
Rawson Marshall Thurber also released early production notes teasing the movie’s set design, which includes locations like the “Common Room,” the “War Room,” the “Hall of Heroes,” the Lions, and more.

The live-action Voltron doesn’t have an official release date as of yet. The script is by Ellen Shanman and Thurber. The film is from Amazon Studios.
