Val Kilmer Says To Give Ben Affleck A Chance As Batman; Wil Wheaton Is Just The Opposite

The stars are aligned behind Ben Affleck as the latest comes from the former Caped Crusader, Val Kilmer.

Similar to how we heard from Henry Cavill and The Avengers director Joss Whedon, Val Kilmer takes to his Twitter to offer his support.

“Give Ben a chance!” Kilmer tweeted earlier.

Val Kilmer starred as Bruce Wayne in the 1995 Joel Schumacher movie, Batman Forever, that wasn’t received very well by the fan base as well.

While Kilmer is positive about Ben Affleck, other Hollywood stars – not so much.

Wil Wheaton took to his own Twitter to throw a few jabs at Affleck’s direction.

“Really looking forward to seeing Affleck bring the depth and gravitas to Batman that he brought to Daredevil and Gigli,” Wheaton said.

However, after some apparent backlash from his followers who we are guessing are fans of Affleck, Wheaton chained his tune. Sorta.

“Relax, Team Affleck. I’m just making a joke. Calm yourselves with a rewarding viewing of Jersey Girl, and everything will be fine,” Wheaton replied back.

The sequel to “Man of Steel” goes into production next year for a July 17, 2015 release also starring Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
