Following Underworld: Blood Wars, it’s announced Len Wiseman and his production company Sketch Films are developing an Underworld TV series.
Deadline has it that the Underworld TV series is based on the popular action horror movie franchise and is targeting the premium cable/digital space.
“The series will be a pretty big departure from the films,” Len Wiseman said. “I don’t want to say it’s more adult, but it’s definitely less comic book in its tone and character.”
As noted, Len Wiseman has been involved with Underworld from the beginning, as he co-wrote and directed the first two as well as produced the previous three. Len Wiseman will be on board the new Underworld TV series as executive producer, with Sony involved as well.
Underworld kicked off in 2003 starring Kate Beckinsale as the vampire Selene battling the lycans.
Len Wiseman is also executive producing the new Fox and Marvel X-Men TV series, The Gfited.
