Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, hosts “Lightsaber Saturday” on his Facebook page where fans create images and memes crossing the Arrow Universe with Star Wars.

A fan has taken it one step futher by creating Arrow Star Wars videos.

Dave Jones is back with the above and added on his YouTube channel:

This is the final installment of my Arrow Jedi trilogy. For this one, I added lightsabers to two battle sequences from the Arrow Season 3 mid-season finale. The first features Ra’s al Ghul against eight lightsaber-wielding members of the League of Assassins. The second is the epic battle between Oliver Queen and Ra’s al Ghul on the mountaintop. As always, there are plenty of Star Wars easter eggs.

Tonight’s Flash Features Huge “Superman II Fight”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18813:]]

Slight spoilers for tonight’s return of The Flash, but more than likely the details will just get you more excited to watch.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg let loose a few details about tonight’s episode, which is said to include a huge fight reminiscent of the big Superman II fight on the streets that reveals The Flash to the world.

“The Flash does this knockdown, drag out Superman II fight in the streets with the rogues, and everyone sees The Flash,” Kreisberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s no longer an urban myth. He can’t be dismissed. The world starts to change and is starting to have to accept that there are these crazy things out there. That will have repercussions going back into Starling City as the world starts to change.”

The episode, titled “Revenge of the Rogues,” features Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold teaming with Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave.

“It’s the first time villains have said ‘our goal this week is to kill The Flash,'” Kreisberg offered.

So with the Rogues after Flash, will The Flash be prepared? Grant Gustin hints that The Flash might be distracted following the events that went down with the mid-season finale.

“He’s thinking about Reverse Flash after the last episode,” Gustin said.

“The Flash” airs tonight at 8pm ET on the CW.

Supergirl TV Series Dialogue Hits The Net

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18807:]]

Supergirl is coming to CBS, and while Kara Zor-El has yet to be cast, dialogue from audition tapes has hit the net giving an indication as to the show’s feel.

Video of the Supergirl auditions surfaced on Vimeo, and have since been removed, but we do get the text (via io9) which reveals conversations between Kara and Jimmy Olsen about Superman, as well as Kara and her foster sister, Alex, and a conversation comparing Supergirl and Superman’s powers.

Jimmy Olsen and Kara:

JAMES: Excuse me.

KARA: Derek, from editorial. Sorry, haven’t done your research yet… Wow, no. Not Derek. His bones are way less dense… Not that I know that, because that would be like… Having a dual energy X-Ray observatory meter inside your eyes, which would be crazy…

JAMES: Yeah, it’s… It’s James.

KARA: Right, the new unit photographer from Metropolis, I know that because you’re on a post-it… Oh, no. I was supposed to get those proofs from you…

JAMES: 10 minutes ago, yeah, I figured I’d bring them up so you wouldn’t get in trouble with your boss.

KARA: Thanks, that’s… That’s him.

JAMES: Superman, yes. How did you know?

KARA: Of course it’s him. Because you’re famous for taking pictures of him.

JAMES: Oh, God, am I really that derivative? Time for a new subject.

KARA: Is it true you’re friends?

JAMES: Yeah… Yeah, I guess. I wouldn’t have pegged you for a Super-fan.

KARA: He feels more like… family… to me.

JAMES: That’s what they all say. Go on, I know that look. Ask me all the questions, I’ve heard them all. How tall is he? What does he eat for breakfast? Does he sleep?

KARA: Were you scared of him? When you first saw what he could do, were you scared of him?

JAMES: … Haven’t heard that one. Was I scared? I was just starting out. Mr. White sent me to cover a house fire. People… Kids… trapped inside. At some point, the firefighters… All they could do was pray. And then, there he was. A person, in the sky, flying. He cut down this giant tree with a ray of heat from his eyes and made a bridge so a family could escape, and when the tree caught on fire, he cooled it off with a blast of freezing air from his mouth. I should’ve been terrified, but I wasn’t. Something about him made me feel…

KARA: Safe?

JAMES: Yeah, that’s right. That’s why he’s him, I guess. So, huh… Do you have superpowers?

KARA: What? That’s an absurd accusation, I’m just a regular human person who has a lot to do before she can leave tonight.

JAMES: No, I just mean because your boss is coming, and she really pissed. Later, Kara.

Kara and Alex:

ALEX: Why can’t you just text me whatever your big thing is? I’ve got a meeting with Henshaw in five…

KARA: Can’t see your face over the phone.

ALEX: OK, you have three seconds.

KARA: I did it, Alex. I did what you always wanted me to do.

ALEX: Your hair looks exactly the same.

KARA: No, I saved them. I did it, I stopped them from going over the bridge, those people are alive because of something I did.

ALEX: You could’ve been killed.

KARA: How? I could bend this steel desk into a little ball if I wanted to, you’ve seen what I can do.

ALEX: Then they could’ve been killed, it’s not like you’ve had a lot of practice stopping trains.

KARA: You always said that if you had my powers, you’d use them to change the world. I came here to say you were right, I’m going to.

ALEX: How?

KARA: By finally being the person I was sent here to be.

ALEX: You have not thought this through. You expose your powers. Outside, in daylight, to the general public. Do you have any idea what the odds are someone has taken a photo, maybe a video, of you stopping that train with your hands? I’m going with 100%. You’re probably already trending.

KARA: They would’ve died without me. I don’t get it, I thought you’d be proud.

ALEX: Our whole childhood, you hid your abilities like they were disabilities. You made me, our family, your co-conspirators. And now you walk in here, announcing a career change? What’s next, law school?

KARA: Today felt like the first day of my life. I felt like I was back home.

ALEX: In Midvale?

KARA: Krypton. I mean…I had to do something spectacular just to feel normal.

ALEX: Whatever you’re going through, it’ll pass. Just don’t do something you’re gonna regret.

KARA: I just told you about the best moment of my life, and you can’t even be happy for me.

ALEX: Kara… You may have his abilities, but you’re not him.

KARA: No. You’re right, I’m not. I am Kara Zor-El. Daughter of Alura. And I’m gonna start living like it.

Comparing Supergirl powers to Superman’s:

WYNN: This is straight from editorial. Have you seen her? I mean, she looks like every girl that never talked to me in high school and college…. I mean, she’s the female version of him!

KARA: No, she’s not the female him. She’s her own thing, completely unique, unaffiliated, individual…

WYNN: Imagine the possibilities. The Man of Steel… In girl form. I mean, her powers could possibly rival his.

KARA: Not “possibly” rival his, she’s an equal.

WYNN: She didn’t bother fabricating a costume.

KARA: She didn’t had time, she had to act fast.

WYNN: First impressions count, though, she’s very dirty.

KARA: She’s lifting a train.

WYNN: Barefoot, needs a pedicure.

KARA: She’s saving peoples’ lives!

WYNN: She’s very cool. Superpowers plus boobs, I mean, she’s gonna make it very difficult for women to think they can date him as long as someone like her is out there.

KARA: Stop saying stuff like that. Who cares what she looks like? She’s a hero.

WYNN: You know, Kara, you’re right. My superficiality is everything that’s wrong with this city. Where were you born?

KARA: Up north?

WYNN: Rhetorical. What I’m saying is that people living in National City weren’t actually born in National City. We moved here to make it, but we got caught up with the way we look and the clothes and the cars and the laser hair removal that we forget to see each other. I mean, this morning when I was in line waiting for my cream cheese I noticed people were actually talking to each other.

KARA: What did they say?

WYNN: Who cares, we were on our phones. Connecting over an alien. She’s already helping us more than she knows.

KARA: I think you’re starting to get it.

WYNN: This big city is already feeling a lot smaller now thanks to the new Super-Chick,

KARA: We’re gonna have to work on the name.

WYNN: Yeah.

No Lazarus Pit For Oliver Queen In Arrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18792:]]

The mid-season finale of Arrow saw Oliver Queen seemingly killed off at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul and then fall off a cliff.

It’s been speculated that Oliver Queen may return with the help of the Lazarus Pit, which is Ra’a al Ghul’s restorative chemical pool.

Stephen Amell even teased the Lazarus Pit on his Facebook page by teasing Arrow fan art (above).

However, now it’s learned the Lazarus Pit won’t be responsible for bringing Oliver Queen back.

While speaking with the Collider, Amell rules out the Lazarus Pit.

“We just saw him fall.  We’ve seen Oliver survive,” Amell responded when asked what it would take for Oliver to have survived. “So, [we don’t know] whether he went straight off the cliff, whether something broke his fall, whether he hit the ground.  We have mystical herbs on the show that have healing powers.  We’ve seen a Lazarus Pit, although that’s not something that’s going to be used for Oliver.  I hope he survives.  I like playing him.”

Arrow returns this week, Wednesday, January 21st at 8pm ET on the CW.

Bad News: Constantine Ratings Lower With New Time

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18786:]]

NBC recently moved Constantine from a Friday 10pm ET time slot to an 8pm ET time slot in hopes the ratings would improve.

Constantine returned this part Friday, and the bad news is the ratings went down.

More than likely the reason for the drop is Constantine didn’t get the lead in from Grimm, which it usually followed.

However, Grimm‘s numbers were down as well.

Constantine‘s ratings for Friday at 8pm earned a 0.8 among adults 18-49, which is down from the 1.0 from the previously aired episode (December 12th) at 10pm ET.

The episode saw 3.08 million viewers tune in, down from the previous episode’s 3.3 million.

Executives at NBC recently hinted if the ratings didn’t improve for Constantine, the show would be cancelled.

The execs cited too many comic book shows on TV and that Constantine isn’t as popular a character as The Flash or Batman as reasons why the show wasn’t doing that well.

NBC Universal does own SyFy, which would probably be a better network for Constantine, so maybe we could see it continue on somewhere else.

Fox May Revive X-Files With David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18781:]]

It’s learned that Fox is considering bringing back X-Files with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

The good news comes from Fox Television Group chairman Gary Newman who confirmed talks are underway at the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour.

“It’s been reported, and it’s true, that we’ve had some conversations about [reviving] X-Files” [ideally with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson],” Newman said, reports TV Line. “But I have nothing that we can announce at this time.”

X-Files ran for 9 seasons with 202 episodes and two movies, which kicked off back in 1993.

There has also been talk of an X-Files 3 for quite a while, but series creator, Chris Carter, said it was up to Fox.

Gillian Anderson is currently involved with NBC’s Hannibal, and David Duchovny has a show coming out on NBC as well with Aquarius, so it remains to be seen whether they would be involved in any new X-Files.

Both actors have said at one time or another they would like more X-Files movies, but could Fox be considering a new X-Files TV series?

Gotham Gets A Season 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18780:]]

This should come as no surprise, but the Batman prequel series on Fox, Gotham, has been given a Season 2.

Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, announced the news earlier today.

Gotham has ben averaging a 4.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.6 million viewers per episode.

It’s also the number one broadcast drama overall among men 18-49 and men 18-34.

The debut episode, which exploded into Premiere Week with a 6.0/18 rating among Adults 18-49, outperformed The Blacklist and Scorpion and delivered FOX’s highest-rated fall drama debut in 14 years. This Live +7 rating reflects the largest post-three-day ratings gain (+0.9) of any broadcast drama, ever.

The next episode of Gotham airs Monday, January 19th at 8pm ET with “What The Little Bird Told Him” and is described as: In an attempt to get his job back, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) seeks to capture Jack Gruber (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl), a deranged electrical genius who escapes Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, Falcone (John Doman) struggles to hold onto his empire after Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) makes her next move.

Constantine Season 2 Not Guaranteed

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18775:]]

We get some disappointing news coming out of the recent Television Critics Association press tour in regards to the future of Constantine on NBC.

IGN spoke with a couple of executives who seem to be making excuses why the show may not get a second season.

While it’s obvious that Constantine was hurt by the late Friday night time slot, NBC tries to say the reason for the show’s lack of success – at least for live viewings – is due to too many comic book TV series or the fact that Constantine may not be as well known as a Batman or Flash.

“We wish the show had done better live,” Jennifer Salke, president of NBC said. “It has a big viewership after [it airs] in all kinds of ways and it has a younger audience, but the live number is challenging. It hasn’t come out in the way we wanted it to, but we love the show. I think it’s fair to say we’re still talking about it.”

“We got on the bandwagon of these shows based on comic books and maybe there are too many of them,” added Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC. “It’s a popular series of comics, but it’s not The Flash, it’s not Batman. So maybe it suffers a little bit there. But as Jen said, it’s a show we really like. We love Matt Ryan, who’s the star of it. I think we did right by the fans who didn’t like the film that was made of it. The future is still up in the air for that show.”

Of course the execs are going to try and find blame elsewhere, and not on themselves for the decision of the Friday night time slot, but there may be a ray of hope in that Constantine still has a chance of a second season.

When Constantine returns tonight, the series will be featured at an earlier time starting at 8pm ET. It seems from what is stated above, if Constantine doesn’t improve in ratings for the new time slot, it will more than likely be cancelled.

For what it’s worth, the Gotham “Batman” series airs on Mondays and Flash airs Tuesdays – both at 8pm.

Supergirl Described As Crime Series; Costume Is Awesome

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18725:]]

Coming out of the Television Critics Association from this past weekend are details about the CBS Supergirl TV series.

In their article, EW.com states “you can definitely expect the show to be a crime procedural,” which means Supergirl will be stopping the bad guys with each episode (and we are guessing not an actual detective).

However, it is also stated the Supergirl TV series will include serialized elements for an overall story arc for the season.

“There will be [crime] cases, but what [executive producers] Ali Adler and Greg Berlanti pitched was a real series arc for her,” CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said. “The beauty of it is now with shows like Good Wife and Madam Secretary, you can have serialized story elements woven into a case of the week. She’s a crime solver, so she’s going to have to solve a crime. She’s going to get a bad guy.”

It’s also said that Supergirl hasn’t been cast yet, and it appears as if they are going for a lesser known actress for the role.

Tassler said of the actress that will end up playing Supergirl “She’s got to be an every woman. She’s got to be specific. She’s got to be a terrific actor.”

Tassler continued by describing Supergirl as: a very strong, independent young woman. She’s coming into her own. She’s dealing with family issues. She’s dealing with work issues. It’s a female empowerment story. If you look at the strong female characters we have on the air, it really is resonant of that … We’re big feminists. It’s her intellect, it’s her skill, it’s her smarts. It’s all of those elements. It’s not just her strength, which she does have.”

While Supergirl has yet to be cast, the Supergirl costume is ready.

“We have seen the costume,” Tassler said, adding that it’s being created by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, who also did the costumes for Arrow and The Flash. “Awesome costume.”

It’s expected the Supergirl TV series will debut next Fall on CBS.

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts. But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.
